According to reports, the actor was considered by the makers to star in the film based on the epic Tamil novel of the same name and jointly produced by Madras Talkies and Lyca Productions. However, his age didn’t suit the character which the makers wanted him to portray and hence was not considered.
Shanthanu recently made his debut as a director for his short film, Konjam Corona Naraiyya Kadhal, featuring him and his wife Kiki Vijay. The movie was filmed inside their residence during this lockdown period and was shot using an iPhone. Meanwhile, Shanthanu is waiting for the release of Lokesh Kanagaraj’s Master, where he will be seen alongside Vijay and Vijay Sethupathi. Mani Ratnam’s Ponniyin Selvan stars Vikram, Jayam Ravi, Karthi alongside Trisha Krishnan and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan.
