Jayaram, Simran’s upcoming family rom-com begins with grand pooja ceremony in Chennai

CHENNAI: The pooja ceremony of the upcoming film starring Jayaram and Simran was held in Chennai on Sunday, with the participation of the film’s cast and crew and several celebrities from the film industry.

SY Gauthamraj, who directed films including Raatchasi (2019) and Kazhuvethi Moorkan (2023), has written and directed this film.

Produced jointly by K Vijay Pandi of White Carpet Films, the production house behind Dejavu (2022) and Vithaikaaran (2024), and Shanjan G of Redacted Studios, the film is presented by Arya under The Show People.

Jayaram and Simran play the lead roles in the film, while Ponvel, who played a child artiste in Vaazhai, plays a pivotal role. They are joined by Devika Sathish, Bhagavathi Perumal (Bucks) and others in supporting roles.

Being created as a family rom-com entertainer, the film revolves around the relationships between the Gen Z, 2K and 90s generations, along with the interesting incidents that take place in their lives, a release said.

On the technical front, Deepak is handling the cinematography while Achu Rajamani is composing the music. Karthik Netha is penning the lyrics for the songs and Arul E Siddharth is handling the editing.
