There is a scene in the film in which the actress shares her number with Ashok Selvan. The actress’ fans, who called themselves Vani Army assumed it to be the actress’ real phone number and have been calling up every day, hoping to talk to her. However, it turned out to be a Chennai-based real estate entrepreneur named Boopalan. After continuous phone calls, Boopalan lost his cool, and has filed a police complaint. He said that a few callers started abusing him after they realised it wasn’t Vani’s number. Boopalan in his complaint requested the police to take necessary action against the Oh My Kadavule team for misusing his number. Oh My Kadavule directed by Ashwath Marimuthu also has Ashok Selvan and Ritika Singh in lead roles.
