Ganja peddler hacked to death by rival gang members in Pallikaranai

CHENNAI: A 24-year-old ganja peddler was hacked to death during a quarrel, in Pallikaranai on Wednesday. On Tuesday night, the police were informed that a group of men were attacking each other on Ambedkar Street. When a team visited the spot, they found the body of Alwin (24) with cut injuries on his head, neck and other parts. His friend Perumal (23) was also lying unconscious with injuries. Officials admitted Perumal to Chromepet GH where Alwin’s body was also sent post-mortem.

Sources said Alwin, a ganja peddler, had problems with Soorai Mani and gang, who allegedly hacked him and Perumal and escaped from the spot. The police have registered a case and are searching for the absconding accused.
