Police vehicle damaged by relatives of juvenile suspect

CHENNAI: A woman inspector attached to Vadapalani police station who went to nab a 17-year-old teenager involved in a robbery case was allegedly manhandled by his parents and relatives of the minor. The police vehicle was damaged in the attack.

According to police sources, a police team from Vadapalani went to Karambakkam near Porur on Tuesday night to apprehend the minor boy involved in phone snatching cases when the incident happened.

Another teenager, Sanjay (19) was arrested by the police for being an accomplice to the minor boy.

While the minor boy managed to flee when his family members stalled police entry and damaged the police vehicle, a police team arrested the juvenile too on Wednesday. Police have also secured the parents and relatives of the minor boy for damaging a police vehicle. Further investigations are on.
