Man arrested for possession of 250 kg Gutkha in Saidapet
A police team that was on general checking in Mosque garden street apprehended a man selling Gutkha in the neighbourhood. During investigation, it was revealed that he had stocked it in his house. Around 250 kgs of the oral tobacco was seized from his house.
CHENNAI: City Police on Tuesday arrested a 37 year old man who was in possession of 250 kg of banned Gutkha (oral tobacco) products in Saidapet.
Saidapet police had received a tip off about the sale of Gutkha products in their jurisdiction after which searches were conducted.

The arrested man was identified as Ravuthar Nainar Mohammed (37). He was produced before a magistrate and remanded in judicial custody. Investigations are under way to ascertain from where the oral tobacco products were sourced.
