Drunk man held for attacking friend
The accused was identified as Billu alias Raj of Cheiyyambakkam Colony in Tiruvallur.
TIRUVALLUR: Police arrested a 37-year-old man for assaulting his friend in an inebriated condition in Tiruvallur on Wednesday. The accused was identified as Billu alias Raj of Cheiyyambakkam Colony in Tiruvallur.
On Tuesday night, Billu reportedly got drunk and fell asleep in front of his friend Kumar’s shop located in Keezhacherry. The following morning when Kumar came to open his shop, he found Billu lying at the entrance and attempted to wake him up. Infuriated upon being disturbed from his sleep, the accused got into a brawl and assaulted Kumar.
Following this, Kumar was admitted to the Tiruvallur Government Hospital for treatment of his injuries.
On the victim’s complaint, Mapedu police registered a case and arrested Billu on Wednesday. Investigations are on.
