CHENNAI: Police arrested four men including 2 security guards of a private firm who looted copper rods worth Rs 7 lakh from the firm on Wednesday. A private car spare parts manufacturing unit is located in SIPCOT in Sriperumbudur.

The firm manager noticed that copper rods in huge quantities were missing and informed the police.

The cops found that securities Subrath (28) of Tripura and Vibin Kumar (30) of Uttar Pradesh were evasive in their replies and also found both of them talking frequently with Nagarajan, who used to supply water cans in the factory. The trio along with load auto driver Manikandan planned and looted the copper rods a few days ago.

Soon the police arrested the four of them and seized the copper rods from them on Wednesday. Subsequently, they were remanded in judicial custody and sent to prison.
