Hunt on for gang that damaged traffic police booth in T Nagar

When a worker attempted to stop them, they attacked him and inflicted injuries. The gang then hurled stones and damaged the windows and glass doors of a traffic police booth nearby before escaping.

CHENNAI: Police have launched a hunt for a gang of miscreants who damaged a traffic police booth in T Nagar in an inebriated condition during the early hours of Saturday.

Police sources said that the gang had come in an autorickshaw and had attempted to steal construction materials meant for stormwater drain (SWD) works near GN Chetty road.

When a worker attempted to stop them, they attacked him and inflicted injuries. The gang then hurled stones and damaged the windows and glass doors of a traffic police booth nearby before escaping.

Police reached the scene and moved the injured worker to a hospital. Based on CCTV footage, police have launched a hunt for the suspects.
