Chennai: Inquiries revealed that he lost money in online gambling. The deceased, N Gandhi Rajan of Sivaganga district, was a worker at an eatery in Velachery and shared a rented house with fellow workers at West Mambalam. On Wednesday, he stayed back in the room while others left for work in the evening. Around 9 pm, a delivery boy found him hanging in the room and alerted the police station in person. Kumaran Nagar police retrieved his body and sent it for post-mortem. Cops found out from his co-workers that Gandhi Rajan had already lost Rs 2 lakh in online gambling two years ago. He had stayed away from gambling online but recently resumed gambling again, where he lost a huge sum in a couple of few weeks. Police suspect that he might have resorted to the extreme step due to dejection. Further investigation is on.
