10-yr-old boy dies, mother, brother hurt in GST Road mishap

The deceased was identified as Prithvi Rajan of Kodungalthangal village in Maraimalai Nagar and the persons injured were his mother Sangeetha (35) and brother Dilip (8). On Sunday evening, Sangeetha took both her children on her two-wheeler to the Karate class in the locality. When they were travelling on the GST Road, a lorry which came from behind rammed the scooter. 

In the impact, all three were thrown off the vehicle and suffered severe injuries, but the lorry driver escaped from the spot. 

The Maraimalai Nagar police team that arrived at the spot found that Prithivi Rajan had died on the spot and sent his body for post-mortem examination. Sangeetha and Dilip were taken to a private hospital in Potheri. They have registered a case and are searching to nab the missing lorry driver.
