City-based online game becomes a huge hit

“Our venture picked up during the lockdown period. Since people were unable to step out, they approached us to organise game nights and game-based virtual events. Even though people have now started stepping out for work we are still getting a lot of enquiries. What makes us stand apart from the rest is that we provide interactive sessions with the participants,” says Zeeshan.

The venture that was started with four members has 27 people on the team today. “We have interesting mystery room games like jail murder, casino heist, bank robbery, murder mystery, horror mystery, etc. The highlight of all these games is that participants can play with live characters. All the games are played via Zoom. Firstly, participants have to choose a mystery and form a team of detectives. We brief them on the plot of the story and each team will get a private room on zoom. Then, we assign the characters who play the prime suspects into each room. The suspects will share their stories with the participants and everyone gets to interrogate live characters to unravel the mystery. It is a very engaging and interactive game. After the interrogation, each team will tell their findings and whichever team comes closer to the mystery is the winning team. There is a lot of fun involved in this,” he explains.

Puffalope also hosts live quizzes and treasure hunts. If all goes well, the team will be organising a treasure hunt at the Government Museum in Egmore. “We are planning to conduct the event by January end. We are waiting to see how things will change by then.”
