Former judge CS Karnan appears before CCB over obscene remarks
Former Calcutta High Court Judge CS Karnan appeared before the Central Crime Branch (CCB) sleuths on Thursday for an inquiry in connection with his obscene remarks against retired and serving Supreme Court judges, their wives and women judges in a viral video.

The CCB had already registered a case against the retired judge under Sections 153 and 295 of IPC and was summoned on Thursday. Officials confirmed that Karnan appeared for the inquiry but did not reveal the proceedings and further course of action. In October, the Tiruvanmiyur police had booked a case against five men without naming Karnan for trespassing into a Supreme Court judge’s residence in their jurisdiction. A video of him making sexually violent remarks against women judges and wives of Supreme Court judges had gone viral on social media.
