School-going sisters found dead in farm well

Two school-going sisters were found dead at a farm well near Kalpakkam on Wednesday morning. The police have registered a case and are waiting for the post-mortem report.

The deceased were Priyanka (16) and Shenbagavalli (12), studying in Class 10 and Class 6 respectively, of Amaipakkam village near Kalpakkam. Their father Hari Krishnan works with a private firm as a wage worker and mother Seetha works in Kalpakkam Atomic Plant quarters. On Tuesday, their parents went for work in the morning while Priyanka and Senbagavalli were staying in their house. Police said usually Hari Krishnan get back home at 11 pm and Seetha at 9 pm. The girls would go to the place where Seetha works in the evening and would go home together.

Police said, on Tuesday, the children did not go to their mother’s workplace and Seetha alone came home. She found her girls missing and informed Hari Krishan. After a search, on Wednesday morning Hari Krishnan filed a missing complaint at Sathurangapattinam police station.

Later, the villagers noticed their bodies floating in a farm well, one km away from Hari Krishnan’s house. Sathurangapattinam police sent the bodies for post-mortem to the Chengalpattu government hospital. The police have registered a case of a suspicious death.
