Narrow escape for four as car goes up in flames on GST Road

Police said Chandran of Perungalathur was travelling to RDO office in Tambaram Sanatorium along with his friends Vigneshwaran, Mohan and Vaithiyanathan. Around 11 pm, near Tambaram Gandhi Road Junction, Vigneshwaran, who was driving the car, noticed smoke coming from the vehicle’s bonnet. He alerted others and all managed to get out of the vehicle when the car went up in flames. The Fire and Rescue Services team doused the fire.

Tambaram police registered a case and said short circuit might be the reason. Some land documents of Chandran got gutted in the incident, which also affected traffic for a while.
