Electorate won’t let BJP capture power in State: Jayakumar

AIADMK leader and State Minister D Jayakumar on Wednesday took a dig at the ambitious BJP stating that the saffron outfit functionaries were often commenting about capturing power in Tamil Nadu, but they failed to understand that the public should allow the BJP to rule.

The war of words between the AIADMK and its ally BJP continued over the Hindi imposition also.

“The DMK is also dreaming of recapturing power in the upcoming 2021 polls. DMK general council has adopted a resolution that the Opposition party would strive hard to make the DMK president MK Stalin the next Chief Minister. These are the usual ‘build-ups’ created by the political parties. They fail to understand the pulse of Tamil Nadu voters. The public is ready to vote again for the AIADMK government in the next general Assembly elections,” Jayakumar said. Earlier in the day, former union minister Pon Radhakrishnan told reporters in Thoothukudi that both the Dravidian parties (AIADMK and DMK) have been working against the Hindi and Tamil language for the past 65 years.

Claiming that they are working against the imposition of Hindi in Tamil Nadu, the Dravidian parties have not only murdered Hindi, but they have also decimated the Tamil language by fielding it against another language.

“Both the languages are important for development and playing linguistic politics is a huge setback for the State,” Radhakrishnan said.
