Megna Reddy (30), a resident of Perumattunalur village in Guduvanchery, had three pet dogs. A few days ago, her dogs were kidnapped by unidentified men in a car. Megna filed a complaint at the Guduvanchery police station. On Monday, she learnt that the carcasses were found in a vacant land near the Nandivaram veterinary hospital. There, she found many decomposed carcasses of dogs lying in the bushes and an unused well.

After she alerted Blue Cross about the matter, its volunteers visited the spot on Tuesday and found more than 20 dead dogs. Some of them were killed long ago as only skeletal remains were found. A complaint was filed at the Guduvanchery police station and investigation is on to nab the people behind this.
