Chennai Municipal Commissioner: Rs. 400 crore spent on Covid-19 prevention work in Chennai

The Municipal commssioner of Chennai met Journalists at the Ripon Buliding. He said that Rs. 400 crore has been spent on prevention of Covid-19 and Rs. 200 crores towards testing of Covid-19 besides Rs. 30 crores towards the food expenses of the duty staff fighting the Covid-19. 90 per cent of the population of Chennai is  using mask which is not enough. The Corporation aims at 100 per cent mask usage by its citizens.

The Chennai Corporation alone has undertaken 5 lakh cases of testing for Covid-19 so far. As the testing has been performed on a large chunk of people,  the data is considered to be of much importance.
