“The rising number of cases has me worried. Although the numbers have been are falling of late, this is only by a small amount. There is still cause for concern and returning to office did worry me a lot. Even though our office is following the right safety measures, it still worries me when I am at work, and my focus is broken,” said a designer in the city.
Some offices in the city have asked employees to stick to work from home as much as possible and come to the office only for certain work that cannot be done from home. This setup, according to one lawyer in the city, allows employees the flexibility to choose which mode they prefer and limit their interaction time with other employees.
“Our office is regularly sanitised and we all are responsible for wearing masks and maintaining social distancing. We have a small team, so it’s easy to manage between us. However, my company can take more measures such as having daily temperature checks of everyone as soon as they walk in,” he added.
A few manufacturing offices in the city have taken to erring on the side of caution. According to one employee at a textile manufacturer in the city, “We are operating at 50 per cent capacity because we want to be safe. Employees who feel unwell are asked not to come to the office without financial repercussions. We also ensured that everyone in the office took immunity-boosting drinks for added protection.”
