Kanchi man kills self after murdering wife
In yet another case of lockdown stress ending in tragedy, a 45-year-old man died by suicide after killing his wife near Kancheepuram on Friday. Sources said that the family was badly hit by the lockdown due to lack of income, which is believed to have led him to take the extreme step.

Police said the deceased, Devi Prasanth of Ennaikaran Street, was a car driver in Chennai and his wife Saraswathi was working as a maid at a few houses in Kancheepuram.
After an argument on Friday night, Prasanth took a knife and attacked Saraswathi. After confirming that she was dead, he killed himself in the same room, said officials.
The Kancheepuram police registered a case, and sent the bodies for post-mortem examination to the Kancheepuram government hospital. Further investigations are on.
