Man goes to meet girlfriend, falls into neighbour's well

When the girl raised an alarm, neighbours alerted the fire force and he was rescued with minimal injuries. The youth was identified as Gilani Mohammed of Venkatapuram, a diploma graduate who works at a mobile phone service centre. Gilani attended a birthday party of his friend's and was reportedly drunk.

On his way back home, he wanted to meet his girlfriend and spoke to her over the phone to come to the backyard. As they were chatting, they saw a neighbour approaching them. Gilani, who tried to avoid getting caught, jumped to the neighbour's house without realising that it was a 40-feet deep well. His girlfriend raised an alarm and neighbours gathered. Immediately, the fire and rescue personnel were alerted and a team from Ambattur fire Station rescued him.
