80 sovereigns of gold ‘vanish’ from caterer’s home
A catering service owner has lodged a complaint saying that 80 sovereigns of gold and Rs 10,000 in cash had gone missing from the bureau at his home in Ayanavaram.

According to the police, caterer Krishnamurthy has lodged a complaint saying that when one of his family members opened the bureau on June 18, it was found that the gold and cash kept in it has gone missing. The caterer was staying along with his wife, son, daughter and mother-in-law in Ayanavaram while he ran his business in Villivakkam.
It was his daughter who was designated as the custodian of the key of the bureau where valuables are kept, police said. After searching everywhere in the house for a week, the family decided to lodge a police complaint on Thursday.
It is not clear if the family is suspecting anybody known to them taking away the valuables after gaining entry into the house, police said.
