Accompanied by his son Udhayanidhi and former union minister Jagathrakashakan, Stalin discussed the health condition of Anbazhagan with the doctor’s team there.

Though the hospital has not given an update on the MLA’s health condition since Thursday, DMK sources said the condition of Anbazhgan has shown a minor improvement.

A bulletin released by the hospital on Thursday said the condition did not improve in 24 hours and the MLA was receiving 80 per cent of his oxygen only through a ventilator. Meanwhile, party sources said the DMK district secretary was only getting 50 per cent of his oxygen through a ventilator, showing a marginal improvement in the last 24 hours.

On Friday, Stalin penned an emotional letter to his cadre, stating that his district secretary would recover and engage in active party duty.

Meanwhile, Sellur K Raju, Cooperation Minister, said the state government is taking all efforts for Anbazhagan’s recovery, irrespective of party politics. The Minister said the ailing MLA is an asset of ‘Dravida Iyakkam’ and Anbazhagan was the most vocal critic of the AIADMK led government in the Assembly.

Stalin also slammed the Centre and the AIADMK regime for trying hard to lift the ban on the Rs 10,000 crore Salem-Chennai eight-lane project to fulfill their selfish interests.
