Brother-sister duo found dead

The deceased were later identified as Sridhar (50) and Jaya Kalyani (45), both theatre artistes, who were identified with the help of the Nadigar Sangam membership cards, said police officials. After a foul smell emanated from the house at Muthamizh Nagar in Kodungaiyur, their neighbours alerted the local police. A team went to the home and broke open the door on Friday. Inside, they found the bloated bodies of the siblings on the bed. Both the bodies were sent to the mortuary at Government Stanley Medical College Hospital.

Inquiries revealed that Sridhar and Kalyani were unwell and seldom stepped out of the house, said police. Police have alerted the control room to find out if the deceased have any relatives. Whether they died of illness or committed suicide would be known only after the autopsy, they said.
