Fish vendor hacked to death by gang of five in Tirumullaivoyal

The deceased was identified as Pandian, 32. Police said the murder happened after he and uncle Sakthivel, who stayed in the neighbourhood, confronted a man named Karthik for damaging Sakthivel’s bike on Wednesday night. Karthik reportedly sought the help of a local history-sheeter, Paneer, to sort out the issue. On Friday morning, a person known to Pandian took him out for peace talks with Paneer. But, as talks failed, Paneer and his associates hacked Pandian to death before escaping from the spot. Police said they are on the lookout for the gang of five who killed Pandian, who is survived by his wife and an eight-year-old son.
