“Considering the difficulties faced by the public in visiting a doctor or hospital for simple ailments, the app was jointly launched by the civic body and Dhanush Healthcare,” an official release from the Corporation said, adding that special officer and Commissioner of Revenue Administration Dr J Radhakrishnan launched the application.

The civic body said that the public can make use of the application round the clock and consult doctors through video calls. “If a patient is found with COVID-19 symptoms, the doctor would alert control room, who in turn would communicate the details of the patient to the respective zonal medical officer. This facility would help senior citizen, children and pregnant ladies to avail treatment at their homes without any constraints,” it said.

Dr Radhakrishnan also chaired a consultation meeting with the zonal special committee heads on COVID-19 prevention and protection activities in the civic body. The officials were instructed to enforce containment zone restriction to only the flat or two-three houses surrounding the residence of the COVID-19 patient as the blocking of the entire street would affect the livelihood of several people.

The Corporation has declared 690 areas as containment zones in which 4,371 COVID-19 positive patients are residing. “As many as 4.25 lakh people are residing in the containment zones. We are providing essential items, kabasura kudineer and face masks for them,” it said.
