When the shutdown was announced, I knew my training would be affected. I spoke to my coach on the matter and he helped me come up with a training regimen that I can do at home. I do exercises that involve the steps at home, and use my body weight rather than weights we would have at the gym. It’s obviously not the same, because training from home feels different, but I am trying to be diligent and stick to it. I was never on a diet earlier, so I’m not on one now either. I’ve always been at home, so spending time with family has never been an issue. We watch TV together, but aside from that, not much has changed. I’m using the Internet a lot more these days, though. It’s a source of entertainment during this time. I miss my teammates and playing with them on the field. Chennai has really good kabbadi grounds, and I really miss that. My teammates and I keep in touch through WhatsApp. I’m very excited to get back on the field and play again. It’s kind of hard being cooped up at home. I’m used to a lot of exercise during my days. I’ve taken to going for runs in the morning and night to get out some of that energy. It’s difficult but it’s for our safety, and so I’m doing my best to follow the rules and tell my friends to do the same. But I’m excited for the shutdown to end because that means it’s back to usual.
