Fans replace ACs in Secretariat
With the experts insisting on fresh airflow to rid pathogens away, all the top offices in Chennai including the Chief Minister’s chamber, chief secretary conference hall and IAS officers’ videoconferencing hall at Namakkal Kavignar Maaligai are now free of air conditioning units and good old fans are back.
Back-to-back meetings chaired by the Chief Minister and Chief Secretary are conducted with fans and open windows for ventilation. “It’s been more than two weeks, since the centralised AC’s were switched on.
Fearing that the AC could spike the viral load, the usage has drastically come down in Secretariat,” said a personal assistant of a minister.
