Man murdered for stealing bike in KK Nagar, four held
The deceased, M Akash (25) of Kattupakkam, did not have a job and is suspected to have indulged in bike thefts earlier. His friend S Tamilselvan (19) of Chinna Porur, who sustained injuries, has been admitted to the hospital.

The accused were identified as M Ramachandran (20), from Kannikapuram, a final-year BA student, and C Abhishek (20), A Santhoshkumar (20), and M Deena of KK Nagar.
Ramachandran had lodged a complaint at KK Nagar police station in February after his bike was stolen. He checked CCTV footage and found a group of youth stealing it. His friend Abhishek identified one of them as Tamilselvan.
On Sunday, they caught Tamilselvan when he passed by KK Nagar around 3 pm. Based on the information he provided, Ramachandran and Abhishek caught Akash from Kattupakkam and brought to Ramachandran’s house on Monday.
Tamilselvan told the police that they tied him and Akash and beat them with wooden logs. Around 12.30 am on Tuesday, Tamilselvan found him lying unconscious. Ramachandran informed his mother Valarmathi who alerted the police. An ambulance was rushed to the house by the police, but Akash had died by then.
Ramachandran and friends were secured and booked for murder and wrongful confinement, and were remanded in judicial custody.
Assam man murders pavement dweller, held
A man who stoned a 60-year-old pavement dweller to death was arrested with the help of CCTV footage. Krishnamoorthi (60) was found with bleeding injuries on Saturday, and Ambattur Industrial Estate police admitted him to Government Kilpauk Medical College Hospital where he succumbed to injuries on Monday.
Police combed the CCTV footage and found a man chasing and attacking Krishnamoorthi with stones. The suspect, Rabibul Islam (33) of Assam, was remanded in judicial custody.
