Police sources said that Srikandan, also known as Kodambakkam Sri, was arrested based on three complaints of sexual harassment and a complaint of cheating. He was produced before Magistrate court and remanded in judicial custody.

Former Mahasabha State Women’s wing Secretary had lodged a complaint against him with the Kilpauk All Women Police Station in January, following which Srikandan was booked on charges of sexually harassing a woman at workplace. After preliminary inquiries, the police registered an FIR against him.

The woman, in her complaint, said that she joined the Mahasabha in 2016. She said that Srikandan made sexual advances towards her, prompting her to send resignation through WhatsApp. After she sought police protection, Srikandan went into hiding and later secured anticipatory bail as he feared arrest. In January, she lodged another complaint against him for targeting her online.

Meanwhile, a businessman Vimal Chand has also lodged a complaint stating that Srikandan had cheated him and criminally intimidated him after receiving Rs 14 lakh from him. On March 1, another complaint was lodged against him for misbehaving with women working at his office.
