15,000 passengers screened in TN, no positive cases yet
More than 15,000 passengers have been screened at Tamil Nadu airports for nCoronavirus and 1,351 passengers are under continuous surveillance across the State. The Health Department officials clarified that there are no confirmed cases of nCoronavirus in the State.

Addressing the media on Thursday, health secretary Beela Rajesh said that 11 passengers are under observation and admitted to isolation wards in the government hospitals currently. She added that TN has sufficient numbers of personal protective equipment, including3,08,184 masks.
“Tamil Nadu has so far tested 34 samples for nCoronavirus, of which 21 are negative. Results for the remaining 13 are awaited. Two of them are of Chinese nationals’,” she added.
Clarifying the claims that Indian Medicine and Nilavembu Kudineer can treat nCoronavirus, the health secretary said that no such method of treatment has been proven yet. She added that Central government is welcoming suggestions on the possible treatments available and health department can get it verified to ensure its authenticity.
The State Health Department officials have also intensified vigilance across the borders with Kerala to ensure that no cases go unidentified and infections can be prevented. The health secretary urged the public to practice personal hygiene and use masks in case of fever, cold and cough. People with health conditions such as diabetes, hypertension and older people should get affective treatment and prevent going to public places.
The Tamil Nadu government started the surveillance for nCoronavirus on January 18th and since then, the guidelines are being shared with the members of IndianMedical Association.
