Rider falls into pit to avoid hitting dog, dies

The deceased, G Ashwin of Manali, a private firm employee, was returning home from work when a dog ran across the road on Kabilar Street in Perambur on Wednesday evening. Ashwin, who applied sudden brakes to avoid hitting the dog, lost balance and fell into a pit on the roadside. Passersby rescued him and rushed him to the Government Stanley Hospital, but he was declared brought dead. A case has been registered and further investigation is on.
