The DVAC FIR cited V Subramanian, revenue supervisor, office of executive engineer, Tangedco, Ambattur division, as prime accused in the case, while his wife Suriyam was named as his accomplice in the crime.
Subramanian had joined as an assessor trainee in 2000 and had been working as revenue supervisor since April 2015 in Ambattur Division. His wife is a homemaker, who, the FIR noted, had no independent source of income.
During preliminary inquiry, it was learnt that Subramanian adopted corrupt and illegal means to acquire properties in his name and that of his wife. He had accumulated maximum assets between 2015 and 2017, the FIR noted.
The FIR added that the official’s worth of disproportionate income during the period was pegged at Rs 2.38 crore – a whopping 1,933 per cent of his known income.

She is punishable under section 109 of IPC along with sections under Preventionof Corruption Act.
