Sex worker flees with valuables, clothes of retired govt staffer

Police said the woman escaped with a five-sovereign chain, three gold rings, two mobile phones and Rs 5,000 cash in addition to his shirt and pants.

The man, a resident of Guindy, had reached Koyambedu bus stand on Sunday night from where he picked up the sex worker. He then took her to a nearby lodge where they spend the night together.

When he woke up at around 6 am on Sunday, he realised that the woman was not to be found. That was when he realised with a shock that she escaped with his valuables and even cloths.

It took some time for him to come to terms with the situation he found himself in. After making arrangements for clothes with the help of the staff at the lodge where he stayed, the man went to Guindy police station initially because he knew some officials there.

The officials at Guindy station advised him to go to the Chennai Mofussil Bus Terminus police station to lodge the complaint, as the incident happened in a lodge that came under their jurisdictional area. Police believe that the sex worker decided to escape with his clothes because she wanted to make sure that he did not rush out looking for her when he woke up.
