A feather in the cap for KCG College of Tech
KCG College of Technology in the city recently was recently proclaimed the ‘Best Industry-Linked Electronics Engineering and Allied Institute’ among the 9000-odd technical institutions that participated in a AICTE-CII survey recently.

Every year, technical institutions across the country are assessed for a prospective partnership between them and the industry by a survey jointly conducted by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) and Confederation of Indian Industry (CII).
In the year 2019, 9832 institutions participated in the short survey, out of which 3,842 of them were shortlisted to participate in the full survey. The best performing institutions were finally shortlisted and called for a face-to-face interaction.
As a result, 39 institutes in 69 disciplines in the country entered the final round. One winner was chosen for each of the nine allied disciplines. Among them, KCG College of Technology emerged the winner and was awarded the ‘Best Industry-Linked Electronics Engineering and Allied Institute’ at the education summit held at AICTE recently.
The award was given away by Prof Ashutosh Sharma, Secretary, Department of Science and Technology, Sunil Kant Munjal, Chairman, CII Education Council and chairman, Hero Enterprise, Prof Anil D Sahasrabudhe, Chairman, AICTE, Dr BVR Mohan Reddy, Co-Chairman, CII Education Council and executive chairman, Cyient, Dr TM Gunaraja, president, Institution of Engineers (India) and Prof Rajendra Pratap Gupta, Member-Central Advisory Board, Ministry of Labour and Employment. College director Dr Annie Jacob, Principal Dr G Prabhakaran and Associate Dean Dr P Deiva Sundari received the award.
