Drunk son kills 80-yr-old man in Nerkundram, held
A drunk man killed his 80-year-old father when the latter refused to give him money to buy dinner, in Nerkundram.

The deceased was identified as Muthu of Bhuvaneshwari Nagar in Nerkundram. His son Balaji (45), the accused, is a construction labourer. Police said Balaji is addicted to alcohol, which led to frequent quarrels between him and his father.
On Tuesday, Balaji came home from work drunk, and demanded money to have dinner. When Muthu confronted him, Balaji pushed him down and started attacking him. Muthu fell unconscious and was rushed to the Government Kilpauk Medical College Hospital by otherfamily members.
However, he died without responding to treatment on Wednesday morning. On information, the Koyambedu police registered a case and arrested Balaji. He was remanded in judicial custody.
Man kills uncle for assaulting mother, arrested
The police have arrested a 31-year-old man who allegedly killed his maternal uncle during a quarrel, near Alanduron Tuesday.
The deceased was identified as Ethiraj (60) from Alandur. The accused, Gokul Raj of Asarkana Street in Alandur, works at a courier firm. Police said that Ethiraj was addicted to alcohol and used to quarrel with Saraswathi (55), his sister.
On Tuesday night, Ethiraj came home and attacked Saraswathi, said the police. Her son Gokul tried to stop him, but Ethiraj continued assaulting Saraswathi.
The police said Gokul took a huge stone and smashed it on Ethiraj’s face, killing the latter on the spot. On information, the St Thomas Mount police visited the spot and sent the body for autopsy to the Chromepet Government Hospital. They also arrested Gokul and remanded him to judicial custody.
