83-year-old woman relieved of seven sovereign chain in Kolathur

While the duo fled the spot, Peravallur police have registered a case and have launched a hunt for the suspects with help of CCTV footage. Meanwhile, an unidentified duo snatched and escaped with a mobile phone of a college girl in a moving MTC bus at Washermenpet on Saturday. 

The victim, Nivedha (22) of Srinivasan Nagar, Tiruvottiyur was a student of a private college in Maduravoyal and the incident happened when she was returning home from college. She boarded an MTC bus (route No: 159 plying between Maduravoyal and Washermenpet). 

Two men who were seated behind the victim suddenly snatched her phone when she was talking to her friend and jumped out of the bus. She has lodged a complaint with the Tondiarpet police. The policeare combing the CCTV footage to establish the identity of the accused.
