Minister inaugurates new parking yard, guesthouse at Kamarajar Port
Union Minister of State for Shipping (Independent Charge) and Chemicals and Fertilisers Mansukh Mandaviya inaugurated the newly-constructed parking yard, new gate complex and guesthouse at Kamarajar Port on Friday.

In a press release, Kamarajar Port Limited said that the projects have been developed at a cost of Rs 61.39 crore. Parking yard and new gate complex would streamline the traffic movement in Port.
After inaugurating the facilities, the minister also inspected various cargo handling terminals of the Port and held review regarding the performance of the Port with officials. Sunil Paliwal, Chairman cum Managing Director, Kamarajar Port briefed the minister about different areas in which the Port is trying to diversify its operations.
During the visit, Mandaviya urged for healthy and transparent interaction between the Port and the terminal operators to facilitate better trade. The port handled 34.50 million tonnes of cargo in the financial year2018-19.
