Four persons were arrested by the Thiru Vi Ka Nagar police here for allegedly damaging CCTV cameras in their jurisdiction, and a hunt has been launched to nab two more suspects, including a murder-accused. The arrested were identified as Rahul (19), Ilango (19), Janakiraman (20) and Bharath (21).

The police, who found a few CCTV cameras damaged in their jurisdiction a week ago, had launched a hunt for the miscreants and had secured the suspects subsequently.
The suspects had, however, told the police that it was at the behest of their friend ‘Kendai’ Arun, a history-sheeter, that they broke the CCTV cameras.
The police said that Arun, who was absconding, was arrested with the help of CCTV footage recently. However, after coming out of prison on bail, Arun had allegedly hatched a plan to damage the CCTV cameras as it posed a ‘threat’ to his free movement in Thiru Vi Ka Nagar. He along with the accused then reportedly went on a spree breaking the cameras.
While all four men were remanded in judicial custody, a hunt has been launched for Arun.
