    Even as around 15,000 police personnel were deployed here in view of the Ayodhya case verdict, no untoward incident was reported in the city as normalcy prevailed.

    Besides police personnel, special forces were deployed in Chennai in view of Ayodhya verdict on Saturday

    However, officials reviewed the security arrangements at important places such as MGR Chennai Central, Egmore railway station, Chennai Mofussil Bus Terminus, Central and State government offices and a heavy posse of police personnel was posted as standby until further orders. The public travelling outstation were also seen going about their plans without difficulty. Though no major incident took place, senior police officers continued maintaining surveillance and insisted police personnel to conduct a thorough vehicle check at strategic locations on arterial roads.


    While DGP J K Tripathy and Chennai city CoP A K Viswanathan issued instructions in that effect, they also appreciated their subordinate officers for the security arrangements, which helped the day to pass off incident-free.
