54-year-old murdered in Mahabalipuram, hunt on for suspects

The deceased was identified as Manjunathan of Kothimangalam village in Mamallapuram. He was working as a supervisor at a private construction firm. The police said Manjunathan left to Echur Village in Mamallapuram for some personal work around 8 pm on Wednesday. However, he did notreturn home.

Around 7 am on Thursday, the villagers noticed a man lying dead on the roadside with cut injuries and informed the Mamallapuram police. The police team, who visited the spot, retrieved the body and sent it for post-mortem examination to the Chengalpattu Government Hospital. The police have registered a case and trying to identify the murderers.
