Youth riding triples rams bike into tree, dies
Two people were killed and four others suffered injuries in separate incidents in the city on Tuesday night.

In the first incident, a 24-year-old man was killed when he was triple riding with two others and lost control of the bike. He rammed the vehicle against a tree on the 200 feet road near Padi on Tuesday night.
The deceased, Shaktivel, was working in a fish stall. He was returning after meeting his friends in Kolathur. “During return, he was riding with two of his friends, John and Surendar, and was heading towards Villivakkam. When they reached 200 feet road near Padi, Shaktivel lost control of his vehicle and rammed into a tree,” the police said and added that they were also inquiring if the he was speaking on the phone when the incident happened.
John and Surendar were rushed to a hospital and are under treatment. Tirumangalam traffic investigation police have registered a case.
32-year-old killed as car turns turtle
In another incident, a 32-year-old man died when his car hit a median and overturned at Kallikuppam toll plaza on Tambaram-Puzhal bypass at 3 am on Wednesday. The car also hit a stationary truck on the roadside, said the police. The deceased, identified as Lokesh Raj, was employed as a sales executive at a private steel company in Ambattur Industrial Estate. His friends, Sriram (23) of Chromepet and Sathya Prakash (32) of Pammal, escaped with injuries in the accident. They were admitted to Stanley Medical College Hospital.
The police have not ruled out the possibility that the deceased could have been under the influence of alcohol. Car had moved upside down for nearly 50 metres and hit a stationary truck. The Poonamallee traffic investigation wing police have registered a case.
