3 held for hurling petrol bombs at vehicles
Three persons who hurled petrol bombs at vehicles on AE Koil North Mada Street in Washermenpet to take revenge on residents who chased them away while trying to steal two-wheelers, were arrested.

The police said that the incident took place a week ago. The accused were identified as Appu, Suriyakumar and Ganapathy. The police said that the trio reached the spot on October 27 with an intention to steal two-wheelers. However, alert neighbours beat them up and chased them away.
To take revenge for the attack, the trio returned to the street on October 28 night and damaged the vehicles parked on the street. They fled after hurling petrol bombs at the vehicles.
The New Washermenpet police who had registered a case on the incident secured one of the suspects, Appu, with the help of CCTV footage recovered from the locality. Based on his confession, the other two were secured. After interrogation, all three were remanded in judicial custody on Saturday night.
