Woman robbed by auto driver, aide, suffers fracture
An autorickshaw driver along with another person robbed a woman dancer, who was travelling in his vehicle, at knifepoint in Manali on Monday night. The 27-year-old woman had to jump out the vehicle to escape from them and suffered a fracture on her right hand, said the police.

The duo robbed gold jewellery, a mobile phone and Rs 7,000 cash, she had said in her complaint. The victim was identified as Sindhuja, a resident of Theradi Sannathi Street, Tiruvottiyur. She was working as group dancer in the film industry.
According to the police, she was on her way to meet her relatives from her home when the robbery took place. She said that she hired an autorickshaw on Poojammal Street off Ennore Expressway.
When the vehicle was crossing Kakkanji Nagar junction, she saw a man waving his hand to stop it.
The driver stopped autorickshaw near the man and he immediately forced himself into the vehicle. Even as she was confused about the happenings, the man pulled out a knife and threatened her to hand over all the valuables in her possession to him.
As she refused to do so, he pulled her earrings, nose pin, anklet and Rs 7,000 she had in her bag. When she tried to call for help through her phone, they snatched it as well.Â
Panicked over this, she jumped off of the vehicle to escape from the duo. They immediately sped away from the spot, she mentioned in her complaint.
Other motorists, who were passing by, noticed the woman lying injured and rushed her to the Government Stanley Medical College Hospital. She suffered a fracture on her right hand and is undergoing treatment, said the police.
After she lodged a complaint with the Tiruvottiyur police, the officers are going through the CCTV footage to identify the suspects and the vehicle.
