Courier to Chinese delegates goes missing
A consignment, which contained electrical and stationery items worth Rs 80,000 belonging to Chinese Embassy and was couriered to its Delhi office from a city hotel after the Modi-Xi Jinping visit to Mahabalipuram, did not reach its destination, said sources. A complaint in this regard has been lodged at the Guindy police station.
Chennai
The police said that officials from the Chinese Embassy in Delhi, who had accompanied the Chinese President Xi Jinping to Chennai, left behind the items in the hotel. As per the embassy’s request, the hotel authorities sent the items through a mobility firm in Saidapet. As the firm did not have the logistics capacity, they allegedly chose a packers and movers firm from Poonamallee to deliver the goods.
As the parcel did not reach the embassy office in Delhi, a complaint has been lodged at the Guindy police station and the police are trying to track the container truck in which the consignment was sent.
