New hashtag evokes interest in names

“I came to know about the trend when my friend updated the story on Instagram. Even though I made fun of her for posting such silly things initially, the trend caught on fast and I, too, got curious. Later I visited the app’s page.

I messaged my name and within a few minutes received the meaning of my name. It was quite interesting to see the app describing a person’s qualities instead of just one-word meaning,” said Saranya K, a college student from Avadi.

Instagram users pointed out that in case you want to find the post later, one can search #whatisinyour_name_(person’s name) on the search bar of Instagram and find it on the app’s Instagram page.

“Usually, such things won’t trend on social media because many will know the meaning of their names. But this app describes more about the person. Description of my name was very close to my character and It was interesting,” said Abinav Balakrishna, an IT professional from Nungambakkam.
