Red sanders seized at Red Hills

Based on a tip-off that red sanders have been hidden at a warehouse at Dhanalakshmi Nagar in Vadaperumbakkam village near Red Hills, Revenue Intelligence sleuths and the Red Hills police reached the spot on Tuesday and found the godown locked. The lock was broken open and sleuths found eight tonnes of red sanders kept inside allegedly for smuggling them abroad. It was seized and handed over to the Forest department officials. Further inquiry is on to trace the owner of the warehouse.
