Land surveyor held for graft
Sleuths from Directorate of Vigilance and Anti-Corruption arrested a land surveyor who demanded a bribe for measuring the land of a retired sub-inspector near Padappai on Monday.

Prem Kumar, a retired SI from Chennai, owns a 95 cent land in Padappai and approached Narasiman (37), a land survey assistant inspector, for measuring it on August 5 and also paid a fee of Rs 240.
However, Narasiman did not measure the land even after requesting him many times. A few days ago, he demanded Rs 15,000 for the work.
Then, Prem Kumar visited the Kancheepuram DVAC and filed a complaint. When Narasiman received the money from Prem Kumar around 2 pm at his office on Monday, the officers arrested him.
