Tiruvallur man held for killing lover
The police found that a 35-year-old woman, whose body was recovered from Minjur in Tiruvallur on Wednesday, was sexually assaulted and murdered.

Investigation officers have arrested a man of suspicion on Friday. The police had recovered Malathy’s body with injuries all over on Wednesday. Malathy separated from her husband six months ago and living alone.
The police on Friday said that they arrested Ezhumalai (45), who was in a relationship with the deceased. Malathy’s body was found near Vanniyampakkam at Kammavarpalaym village in Minjur by the residents on Wednesday morning. On information, the rushed to the spot and recovered the body which was dumped in the bushes. It was later shifted to Ponneri Government Hospital for autopsy.
“Both Ezhumalai and Malathy are from Minjur and they were in a relationship. Ezhumalai said that she had been insisting him to marry her though he was not interested,”the police said.
On Tuesday night, when they were together, Malathy reportedly brought up the subject and this led to a quarrel between them. After pacifying her, Ezhumalai reportedly took her to an isolated place and sexually assaulted before murdering her. There were injuries on her body, including genitalia, police sources said.
He later dumped her body in the bushes. “I never wanted to marry her but she insisted on marriage. So I decided to kill her,” Ezhumalai told the investigators.
The police said that Malathy was married to Dayanithi. After the couple separated, she was living alone and befriendedEzhumalai.
The police, after investigation, zeroed in on Ezhumalai on Tuesday night and arrested him on Friday.
