The police action comes a month before Modi-Xi summit. According to the police, Chukwa Onwumere Zef (36), a native of Nigeria, was staying in a house of one Nagamuthu at Venpurusham, a coastal village near Mamallapuram. “He was arrested after it was found that he did not have a visa to stay in the country and also his passport had expired,” the police noted. The Mamallapuram police arrested him.

In a similar case, Raja Nayagam (41), a native of Killinochi in Sri Lanka, had entered India illegally in 2009 and was working as a painter in the locality. He was staying at the house of one Balakrishnan in Kelambakkam. The Kelambakkam police registered a case and arrested Raja Nayagam for overstaying without valid documents.
